Home is where the heart is .....

And the heart of my home is our kitchen! Probably like a lot of households I would imagine, and if you have children then you definitley would understand! Its only a small room in our house but crammed full of glasses, gadgets and grub! I always think of the kitchen as a sociable place too, so I do like to have nice objects in there aswell as just practical. Well I need something nice to look at when Im making another journey in there for 'more juice' 'just one more biscuit pleeeease' and 'another glass (bottle) of rose' - ok so the last one is me to the hubby!

I have taken a few pics of some of my favourite bits ......

A small section of my glass cupboard, some from ikea, some car boot and my blue shot glasses 10p from local charity shop!

My bar/library!!

Nigella eat your heart out! Some little culinary delights me and Issy whipped up! (Note the cake mix box out of view) hehe!

A selection of other things from my windowsill! Champagne bucket (£1.00 car boot), decanters (one from tx maxx, other two rescued from tip by Paul!), bright green cafetiere (from a discount website about £6 I think) Champagne bottles (christmas pressie from friend - contents drunk on NYE then I stuck candles in the empty bottles!)

By the way I was going to post a picture of myself today to show my outfit, but I honestly look dreadful 'like death warmed up' as my old mum would say (charming!). I have an awful cold which has been hanging around and my nose would make rudolph jealous. But if you want to know Im wearing, black skinny jeans, black top, brown flat brouges and a cosy leopard print cardi. Grrr!

  1. Oh, I love the look of your house, Netty!
I can never resist a bit of vintage glass, I'm always snaffling it from car boots and chazza shops - it looks so pretty, doesn't it?
    The cakes are yummy-looking.

Love the cute cakes, bet they were munched pretty sharpish!

Love the charity shop finds, I always see pretty glassware in the window of mine, but our kitchen is a disaster zone at present so I worry about breaking it.

  4. Gorgeous glassware! It's something I never think to look for, although I love really detailed perfume bottles. Will definitely keep an eye out for some pretty pieces!
